The Raiders are making a change at offensive coordinator after a season in which they had one of the league’s best offenses.

Bill Musgrave is “not expected to return” to Oakland in 2017, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday. Musgrave’s offense finished sixth in the NFL in total yards and seventh in points. The Raiders finished the 2016 regular season 12-4, with quarterback a front-running MVP candidate before he broke his leg in a win over the Colts on Dec. 24.

In two seasons working with Musgrave, Carr has made two Pro Bowls, thrown for nearly 8,000 yards and hit on 60 touchdown passes to just 19 interceptions.

Per Rapoport, Musgrave was at the end of a two-year contract and the Raiders are allowing it to expire. Quarterbacks coach Todd Downing, who came to Oakland in 2015 after stints with the Lions and Bills, is believed to be a potential successor in house and wholesale jerseys, Rapoport added. Several teams with vacancies expressed interest in him for offensive coordinator, per Rapoport.

With five head coaching jobs still open and, consequently, dozens of unfilled assistant and coordinator gigs still waiting to be filled, it is surprising to see a talented, tenured coordinator with a top 10 offense looking for work. That being said, there could be plenty of suitors for Musgrave.

looked like a rookie thrust into a bad situation early. His fumble to open the second half came as he scrambled up the pocket and didn’t protect the football. Once he settled in, Cook displayed some tools, and an ability to get through his progressions. He led the Raiders’ only scoring drive with some solid darts. Cook finished 14-of-21 passing for 150 yards, a touchdown and an interception. We’re not going to take too much away from Cook’s relief appearance. The Raiders were down big when he took over against one of the best secondaries in the NFL. It won’t get any easier for the rookie if he gets the nod next week in Houston. Cook looked like the better quarterback with in this game, so it will be interesting to see if Del Rio sticks with the rookie even if McGloin is cleared.

The defense swarmed the quarterback and the secondary smothered receivers. Quarterback got the ball out quick, aiding his sub-par offensive line, and he moved the ball early. The Broncos finally found a run game, sparked by a big scamper in the first quarter. The 64-yard run from Forsett was the longest for the Broncos this season. Forsett (22 carries, 90 yards) should give Kubiak a big hug and thank him for all the millions of dollars the coach helped him earn over his career.

Kubiak said he planned to play both Siemian and , but stuck with Siemian for the entire game. The Raiders didn’t batter Siemian until the second half when Bruce Irvin and Khalil Mack jersey each had several pressures but couldn’t record a sack on the Broncos quarterback. With Kubiak planning to retire, a new coach will have to pick between Siemian, Lynch and whatever other QB brings in (cue the Tony Romo rumors). The Broncos’ offensive troubles shouldn’t be blamed on Siemian, who should get a legit shot to battle for the starting gig next season.

Rapoport reported after the game that McGloin’s injury was to his trapezius muscle, acting like a pinched nerve, per sources. The Raiders aren’t ruling out McGloin, but are not optimistic about him playing with Nike NFL jerseys against the Texans, Rapoport added.

McGloin made the start Sunday after Derek Carr broke his leg in Week 16.

Cook, a fourth-round rookie, took over and completed 14 of 21 passes for 150 yards (7.1 yards per pass) with a touchdown, interception, and a fumble lost. Cook looked every bit a rookie that had been given few practice reps before being activated for the first time. Still, the rookie outplayed McGloin, displayed an ability to get through his progression and solid tools in his first NFL appearance.

Gilbert was drafted in the sixth round in 2014 but has never thrown a regular-season pass. The 25-year-old was on the New England Patriots’ practice squad in 2014 when the Pats won the .

Gilbert spent 2015 on Oakland’s practice squad, so he has familiarity with the coaching staff.
